Why we built this.
Manual expense entry is why most finance apps get abandoned by week two. If logging a coffee takes four taps and a keyboard, nobody does it twice.
Quick facts.
- photograph it
- receipt entry
- Web · iOS · Android
- platforms
- shared monorepo
- data layer
Made the receipt the input: photograph it, and it's read into a structured, categorized transaction with no typing. Built it as one codebase behind both the web and mobile apps so they share their data model and never drift, with an AI assistant answering plain-language questions on top of the ledger.
What we learned.
Tracking money without the data-entry tax: snap, and it's logged.
One codebase behind both the web and mobile apps, so the two stay in lockstep.
Overview.
Pockly is a personal-finance tracker across web and mobile. Photograph a receipt and it reads the details into a structured, categorized transaction automatically, no typing. Expenses and income live in one ledger, and an AI assistant sits on top of it to answer plain questions about your spending. Web and mobile share a single codebase, so the two never drift.
